From the archives, our Mother of Pearl Dish is re-editioned in solid brass and silver-plate. Once in matte resin, the round, symmetrical catchall is now finished in high polish metal, resulting in a hypnotically reflective, yet sculptural object. Its new-found weight adds permanence to the form, adding utility as a paperweight or to rest incense cones and tea-light candles.

Cast in small batches, each dish holds trace of the handmade process. As the surface remains untinned, this object is not designed for food service, but as a tactile catchall for delicate treasures. Responding to use and its environment, the high polish finish will shift, exposing character markings, texture and developing a natural patina.

Available in solid brass, left raw or coated in silver-plate.

Each of our pieces are handmade and individually finished by our specialist makers, forming detailed, sculptural shapes. Due to this, each piece may vary in size, weight and texture, as this reflects the individual and handmade nature of our pieces and should be embraced.

Care

Our homewares are suitable for cold food only. These pieces should be hand washed in warm water. Resin may appear frosted after washing and should be rubbed with a drop of cooking oil to restore sheen. All resin pieces are strong and durable but should be treated like a ceramic and are not shock-absorbent and can break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface. Resin is not fire resistant and so should not be used in an oven, a microwave, or used as candleholders or ashtrays.

Bespoke collection pieces available for pre-order are handmade to order in our Sydney studio. Some pieces in our Bespoke collection may be ready-to-ship at time of purchase. This piece may be returned for store credit or exchange to Dinosaur Designs if still in original condition. Simply return via our Returns Portal to access your returns label or visit us in one of our signature store locations within 30 days of receiving your order.
