Botanica’s homewares explore buds and leaf-like forms and welcomes a number of new handmade designs including the Shell Spoon, Gelato Scoop, the Orchid and Large Beetle vases, and the Glass Bean Tealight Holder, a design by Louise as part of her growing LO Collections range.

Botanica’s jewellery then introduces the botanical theme in a mix of bold and delicate silhouettes across a curation of new designs. The resin Sprout Bangle is offered in four variations allowing for playful stacking moments, and the new Lotus range which includes a cuff, ring, pendants and earrings features warm, golden metal and resin artfully fused together to create lotus flower forms.

“Using a flowering bud as our inspiring source, Botanica is a celebration and continuation of the soft form and sculptural elements that are intrinsic to our creative language”, notes Steve.

While the forms are influenced by botany, the collection’s colours draw inspiration from gelato, with a pastel palette that showcases colours of Pollen, Mint, Chalk and Rose Swirl accompanied by new colours Rust, Pistachio and Turquoise. For Louise, it was gelato’s palette of often high-energy colour calmed by soft saturation that drove the inspiration: “We love gelato’s watering down of colour, the way it keeps the pigment of a colour but dilutes it in a soft way”.

For Botanica’s campaign, Dinosaur Designs collaborated with long-time friend and Australian culinary luminary Sean Moran, with his iconic North Bondi restaurant Seans setting the scene for the collection’s visuals. Inspired by the themes and colours of Botanica, for the occasion Sean also created a custom menu that celebrates the natural harmony between Dinosaur Designs’ handmade tableware and his artful use of Australian produce.

“Anything and everything Dinosaur Designs makes has a tactile sensuality to it - much like food, so an opportunity to collaborate in celebration of their new Botanica range feels like natural synchronicity. I am thrilled to play a part”, Sean explains.

Photographed by Kitty Callaghan, Botanica’s campaign follows the journey of Sean’s custom menu from plating up in his buzzing kitchen through to the celebratory feast in the restaurant’s eclectic and colourful dining space that is further enhanced with Dinosaur Designs’ Botanica homewares and seasonal resin and brass decorations.
